COLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Holly Cow! Talk about a cold spell! Right now it is 0 outside, and the wind chill is 21 below. I can't believe that the schools are not delaying or canceling school. Delaying would be good enough. Car started hard today and even after a 5 minute warm up it was still cold inside it. And to think, people were thinking that there wasn't going to be a cold winter this year. It will get cold in Iowa even if it waits till the end of January to do it. Well I hope were you are is warmer than here and I hope that you all have a great day.

More Snow!

Boy did I quote the last snowfall wrong. It was only about 2 inches. Today we got another 4 inches. Not really all that bad. I like the snow, just not the cold. Good thing that the winds are not blowing or we would be in big trouble. Had to go over to the second oldest daughters and blow her sidewalk out for her. They have no shovel, and probably won't be able to buy one now either. Not for a day or two anyway. The snow looks so pretty now, all white and clean.

I also like to feed the birds outside, so I have been watching them come and go from the feeder. Someday would like to get one of those bird baths that you plug in so that the birds could get fresh water too. It's hard to get fresh water when everything is frozen. Also had to throw out some waffles from this mornings breakfast to them. I'm sure they like them.

SNOW!

We finally got snow. It's not alot as of yet, about 4-5 inches. I was starting to think that we weren't going to have any snow. That would be bad living in Iowa. We need to moisture for the farmers. But it sure looks beautiful outside. A picture postcard to say the least. I don't mind the snow, it's the cold I don't like. I like to watch the birds come up and eat from the bird feeder. I like winter really. It's very pretty. Not that it doesn't have it's bad parts. Like ice, slush, cold, strong winds and muck. But other than that, I like winter. Not like the other seasons don't have their bad points too. Where ever you are, I hope that you are enjoying today.

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday.

Know this sounds cleache.

Hows the weather where you are. It is getting cold here. Took it awhile. WOW! We have had a very mild winter so far and always said that we are lucky so far, it will get colder. But we have no snow yet. I sorta miss snow ......... at least for Christmas anyway. But the weather is saying that we may get some snow this weekend. Guess I'll have to wait and see.

First week of training done.

Well this was not quite what I thought it was. I thought it was more of a customer service job. Turns out that it is more like a sales job. It's taking orders for Directv. But not only do I have to take orders, but if the person on the phone says no, I have to do three rebuttals. Which means I have to try at least three times why they SHOULD get directv. Now I've done sales before, and it was soft sales. This is hard sales and I hope that I can do it. Well I can always go over to GMAC. They called and offered my job back, but I have to wait the full 6 months to go back, which is in February. I'm just glad I have a better paying job, and will try it out and try my best.

Remmbering my Mom and Dad.

At this time of year it can be a very sad time, as my Mom passed away 6 year ago tomorrow. Then my step-dad, which was a great dad, passed away February 26th, a bit more than a month later. I also have very many great memories that will keep them living in my mind forever. At this time I look at some of the traditions that I have and am passing them to my children. Like taking the Christmas stuff down on the week-end after New Years Day. But as I look back through the past years of my life I see the values, love, and fun that my Mom gave me. Then my Dad after I was 19, when he married my Mom. I have many great memories that I hold dear in my mind and my heart and I do cherish them. As I said, this time of year can be hard and sad as I remember them. But I do know that one day I will be called home by our Heavenly Father, and at that time I will see them both and we will be together again.

Made it through the first week of the new year.

WEll the first week of the new year has made it past. Since this is the first weekend after Christmas we will be taking our Christmas decorations down. I always hate to see them come down. I love the twinkle of the Christmas lights on the tree and the lights that go around our front porch and all the pictures that we put up and pretty things. I guess it too is a tradition. My Mom was the same way and I guess that's why I do it this way too.

Well I hope that every ones new year started with no accidents. Mine was fine. We watched movies at home and brought in the new year that way. Today we will have a nice family dinner here. My daughter will come over and bring the grand baby with her. We're going to have ham, mashed potatoes, corn, jello with whip cream.
