Wal Mart cakes. I'm done with them!

I went to a wedding reception on Saturday, and they had cakes, like all receptions. I was talking with one of the two brides when I chuckled and said, "You both got white cakes huh." She half smiled and said, "Well, I ordered a chocolate cake, but they (Wal Mart), called two days ago and said that they could not make the chocolate wedding cake. She did not go into details and I did not push for an answer as I could see that it bothered her. What the heck is up with that? There can be no reason or excuse as to why they should not have been able to make that cake. Why didn't they say something at the time of the order? It makes no sense! I have been becoming more and more displeased with them for their cakes anyway, but this takes the cake, so to speak. I will NEVER order another cake from Wal Mart.

Boy today is a hot one. Glad that we finally got a couple of small air conditioners for the house. Helps me breathe and my grand-daughter too. Now I hate to leave the house. LOL But gotta work. Now if I could only AC in the school bus. Not likely to happen though. Some of our summer school kids are going now, and soon the year round school will start too. Try to come back again soon. Flood of 2008.

Boy the weather is bad here in Iowa. We are so flooded. Luckily we have no water in our home, but there are many families that have lost their home and will either have allot of clean up or saleing their homes and leaving.
If you read my post, please pray for those out of their homes.

Wow. What a long time of not bloggin.

Boy ya blink your eye for minute and a year goes by. We have lost our home to foreclosure and moved into the house that I inherited. It took us 8 months to get it to code with the city, as it was empty for almost a year. But here we are. Moved in a week almost two weeks now. It's smaller and a bit to get use to. Now we need to settle in here and try to clear up the bills a bit.
Thank you Lord for getting us here.

Sorry haven't been around.

Sorry that I have not been around. We have had a turn of events again. we have lost our Internet so I have to us our liberey to post things and can only use for an hour so I have to do allot of things while I'm here. Hoping to better the home soon. Not always does having a new job mean that you are able to pay ALL the bills. Sorry that it has been so long.

When will the cold spell go away.

As the title says, when will this cold spell go away? It has been bitterly cold for about 2 weeks now. Below zero temps for about a 4-5 days. Kinda slows you down when it's like this. Try to stay inside as much as a person can, but still have to work and get the kids to school. Yesterday schools here were delayed 2 hours from the cold. All the kids got long johns and me too, trying to stay warm. Times like these make a person ready for Spring, Get cabin fever. Well if your in the cold areas, stay warm and take care. Otherwise just take care.

COLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Holly Cow! Talk about a cold spell! Right now it is 0 outside, and the wind chill is 21 below. I can't believe that the schools are not delaying or canceling school. Delaying would be good enough. Car started hard today and even after a 5 minute warm up it was still cold inside it. And to think, people were thinking that there wasn't going to be a cold winter this year. It will get cold in Iowa even if it waits till the end of January to do it. Well I hope were you are is warmer than here and I hope that you all have a great day.
