Holidays

Well..... here is my first try at Blogging.
I want to talk about Thanksgiving and Christmas. Has anyone noticed that there are more and more stores and things open on these two holidays. These were, at one time, holidays to spend with your family and friends. The convenience stores and gas stations are open 365 days a year, and most 24 hours a day. (which I do work at) These employees don't get the chance or time to spend with their families, and usually have to make the dinner a different day, or eat so fast and have no time to share with the loved ones. Are these companies owned by such greedy people that one or two days a year to close their doors for business is such a great loss? I am pretty sure that they are not working on these to days, that they are home with the family and loved ones, but have employees that have to work that day. I wish that we could all go back to a time when it was hard to find a store open, and if you didn't have all you needed, you somehow got by without it. These are companies that say they are family orientated. Hard to believe when they keep their employees working on these two special days.
Even Ebeneezer Scrooge closed Christmas day and let Bob have the day off.
